Maiko Kojima is the CEO and Founder of Chatbook. She oversees the product vision, design, development, sales, financing and marketing strategy. She was accepted to the “APT Women” 4th cohort sponsored by the Tokyo Government. Additionally, she was accepted to present at the NIKKEI AI Summit to talk about the forefront of AI based technology. Ms. Kojima is self taught engineer and programs in python and objective-c becoming the CTO at Primeagain Inc. She successfully built thirty mobile and web based applications from ideation to product release. She doubled the application usage year after year to scale to 5 million users. Ms. Kojima graduated from Waseda University with a B.S. in International Politics and Economics.
Fei Yang is a Co-Founder of ChatBook. Mr. Yang is a full-stack engineer and has overseen and managed world-class web application engineering teams and with a decade of machine learning experience, with an emphasis on customer success. Prior to joining ChatBook, he was a deep learning engineer in a startup that operates a language learning platform using AI. With the combined experience in machine / deep learning Mr. Yang was was drawn in developing next generation consumer friendly chat apps. He has prior experience working in one of Japan’s largest manufacturing companies. Mr. Yang holds a B.S. from Dalian University of Technology and a M.S. in informatics from Nagoya University.
Eugene Hong is the COO of Chatbook. He first came to Japan in October 2007 as a student on a Japan-Korea government sponsored scholarship program. Upon completing this study in Japan he returned to South Korea and started his career at the prestigious McKinsey & Company as a research analyst to further understand the Japanese manufacturing process. He also has worked at Samsung Welstory Inc., in the department of corporate planning and help expand business operations to Vietnam. Upon getting his master degree in Financial Engineering, he moved to Tokyo in 2018. Where he was employed at VALUENEX Japan Inc. as a in-house member to prepare the company to be publicly listed on TSE MOTHERS. Most recently after working as the CFO of Japan Legal System Institute Co., Ltd., he decided to join ChatBook Inc. Mr. Hong graduated from Osaka University with a B.S in Physics.
Daniel Saito is the CRO of Chatbook. Mr. Saito is a veteran in the Internet and startup entrepreneurship ecosystem with well over 20+ years of experience. He has held several pivotal roles in both engineering and business over the course of his career. In his early career, he helped launch RIMNET one of the early Internet service providers in Japan. He has held both research and development engineering-related positions from France Telecom R&D, developing MPEG4 specification and NTT DoCoMo R&D, Trusted Mobile Platform specification. The latter half of his career he pivoted and focused on sales and business development. Where he held the roles as the managing director of MySQL Japan, with a $1B exit to Sun Microsystems to Oracle for $7.4B and then subsequently started MariaDB as investor and opening the APAC business. He actively helps mentor and grow several startups (FlyData, Reaktor) to gain a market fit and product traction.
